female physiology and health

Eliza is intuitive, grounded, and sensitive in her work with women. Gifted with a refined sensitivity and working with 15 years of dedicated somatic and embodiment practice, she holds a unique capacity for attuning to the needs of the women she works with.

Eliza has been a teacher, artist, and somatic facilitator for years, and is honored to offer pelvic and abdominal manual therapy in service to women’s health, sovereignty, and vitality.

With a teaching style informed by her background in professional dance, Eliza has been teaching therapeutic mat and reformer Pilates since 2020. Her studies in biodynamics and female anatomy, her own frustration with a lack of education in women’s physiology, and the pelvic challenges she saw in many of her one-on-one clients all led her to Womb Continuum Practitioner training, the best hands-on care for women in all stages of life. Eliza is devoted to bringing specialized female bodywork and movement education rooted in female biomechanics to the women in her community.

Eliza’s refined attunement comes from her mentors, studies, and client practice in one-on-one somatic facilitation. She holds a presence-based practice informed by polyvagal theory, developmental trauma, and relational and bio field dynamics.

Eliza is currently studying under her teachers & mentors Carly Rae Beaudry and Andrea Torres in Ma School, the most comprehensive women’s manual therapy program.

Frequently asked questions

  • Unfortunately, no. The nature and point of this work is to allow movement and repositioning of the abdominal and pelvic organs, which can displace an IUD.

  • This is very individual, and is informed by how long and what you are experiencing. The magic of this work is that it unfolds in layers, slowly working to the depth of inflammation/adhesion/congestion held in the body.

As few as 3 sessions can be very beneficial, and I usually recommend 6-10 sessions for deeper, sustained change.

  • The work can feel intense in moments, either bringing up strong physical or emotional sensation. I think of this as pain or discomfort that has already been living in the body, and needs to be felt in order to be released. We never work beyond pain that cannot be breathed through with ease.

  • You are welcome to be completely nude as I work with a sheet covering. If that is not comfortable for you, you are welcome to wear undies and/or a bralette that is non-restrictive.

  • On the day of your session, please arrive with clean skin, free of oils, perfumes, and moisturizers. The first layer of the work will not be effective if you have moisturizer on, especially on the chest, belly, and pelvis/hips.

I sometimes work with the face and neck, and for this reason ask you to not wear heavy makeup or excessive moisturizer on your face as well.

Because this work requires your full presence, it is required that you are not under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, psychedelics, or stimulants.

  • Please arrive right on time, I may be finishing up with a client and will not be available earlier than your scheduled time.

  • I offer vulva and vaginal work as part of Womb Continuum. The tissues of the vulva and vagina also develop adhesion and tension which restrict blood and lymph flow and contribute to pelvic and sexual numbness and pain. External and internal genital work can also be a beautiful and safe way to work through layers of shame and trauma, restoring one’s natural sexual essence and innocence. Internal/external work is only offered after several foundational sessions together. You are welcome to ask questions about this at any time.
